Yongzheng Emperor

The Yongzheng Emperor, the fifth ruler of the Qing dynasty and the third Qing emperor to govern China proper, was the fourth son of the Kangxi Emperor. He ascended the throne after intense succession disputes.

Known for his diligence, Yongzheng focused on creating a more efficient government by combating corruption and implementing reforms in both personnel and financial administration. His reign marked the establishment of the Grand Council, a pivotal institution that significantly influenced the dynasty's future. Militarily, he carried forward his father's efforts to solidify Qing authority in Outer Mongolia and Tibet through strategic military campaigns.
