Romance of the Three Kingdoms Yue Jin

Yue Jin, courtesy name Wenqian, was a renowned military general who served under the warlord Cao Cao during the late Eastern Han dynasty of China. Known for his short stature and exceptional valor, Yue Jin was celebrated for his ferocity on the battlefield. He played a key role in many of Cao Cao's early military campaigns, securing victories against Lü Bu, Liu Bei, the remnants of the Yellow Turban rebels, and Yuan Shao and his allies.

Yue Jin was particularly admired as a capable vanguard, often leading the charge in critical battles. His most famous achievement came during the Battle of Xiaoyao Ford (214–215), where he played a vital supporting role in the defense of Hefei against Sun Quan's forces. Despite his confidence in his strength, Yue Jin harbored a slight inferiority complex about his height, often questioning his self-worth. However, his confidence in his abilities on the battlefield more than compensated for this insecurity.
