Romance of the Three Kingdoms Xu Shu

Xu Shu was a Chinese politician who served the state of Cao Wei during the Three Kingdoms period. Born in the late Eastern Han dynasty, Xu Shu initially lived as a vigilante swordsman, but after encountering legal troubles, he abandoned his former lifestyle and turned to scholarly pursuits.

In the historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, which dramatizes the events of this era, Xu Shu plays a notable role. He appears primarily in chapters 35–36, where he briefly serves as Liu Bei's strategist, offering valuable counsel before the arrival of the famed Zhuge Liang. Despite his limited time with Liu Bei, Xu Shu's contributions leave a lasting impression in the narrative.
