Bastet

Bastet, also known as Ubasti or Bubastis, is a revered goddess in ancient Egyptian religion, potentially of Nubian origin, with worship dating back to the Second Dynasty (circa 2890 BC). She is the goddess of protection, pleasure, fertility, and good health, often depicted with the head of a cat and the slender body of a woman.

Her worship was most prominent in the city of Bubastis in Lower Egypt. As a guardian deity, she earned titles such as the Lady of the East, Goddess of the Rising Sun, and Sacred and All-Seeing Eye. Bastet was also associated with the moon, believed to embody the eye of the moon and the eye of Ra, symbolizing her duality as both a fierce protector and a gentle nurturer.
