Nepthys

Nephthys, also known as Nebt-het, was a complex and multifaceted goddess in ancient Egyptian mythology. Her name translates to "Mistress of the House," reflecting her diverse roles and associations. As daughter of Geb (Earth) and Nut (Sky), she was sister to Isis, Osiris, and Seth. She was often paired with Isis, particularly in funerary rites.

Nephthys guarded the dead on their journey to the afterlife. She was depicted with outstretched wings, symbolizing her sheltering embrace. She possessed powerful magical abilities, often aiding Isis in resurrecting Osiris. In some myths, she is linked to alchemy and transformation. While sometimes portrayed as barren, Nephthys is also considered the mother of Anubis, the jackal-headed god of the dead, and sometimes Horus, the falcon god of kingship.
