Hervor

In Norse mythology, Hervör alvitr is a valkyrie. Hervör alvitr is attested in the Poetic Edda poem Völundarkviða as the sister of the valkyrie Hlaðguðr svanhvít (both daughters of King Hlödvér), and as the seven-year wife of the smith Völundr. Hervor is one of only a few women mentioned in the Edda, which is significant by itself. 

Born into a family of warriors, she defied traditional gender roles, becoming a skilled fighter and shieldmaiden. Her most legendary feat was recovering her father’s cursed sword, Tyrfing, from his grave, despite warnings that it would bring doom. Hervor led successful raids and inspired awe with her combat prowess, becoming a symbol of strength and defiance.
